About Us

Reduce-Reuse-Recycle-Kiama (R3) was developed by a group of like minded residents of Kiama, NSW Australia who wanted to do something about reducing single use plastics, reusing unwanted fabrics and recycling our resources.
In April 2019 we got together over 40 like-minded community membersat a “Waste is a Resource” seminar  where the Community got together to work out what the Community wanted to do about waste.  The Four key elements were

Working together – Education – Waste Reduction – Changing Behaviours

This allowed us to create R3’s aim which is:
To develop and support sustainability projects focused on reducing waste in the Kiama Municipality by working together, educating and changing behaviours.

Quite simply if you want to tackle waste in the Kiama Area and surrounds and have a great idea or project that you want to do or you want to be involved – join R3 and let’s see if we can make it happen.

Membership to R3 only costs $1 a year, and R3 has all the required governance, registration and financial processes in place to apply for grants, work with local, State and Federal agencies.  We just need you and your ideas.
