Day 6

Join us on our 28 De-Clutter Challenge
To help you get ready for the 28 day challenge why not check out these books – all are available at Kiama Library. The Clutter Connection is great if you are trying to organise a love one as it describes different types of clutter bugs and de-clutter techniques for those clutter bugs.
The Life Changing Magic of Tidying – Marie Kondo
Less is More – How to de-clutter your Life – Kim Carruthers
Cut the clutter : speed you cleaning and calm the chaos – Cynthia Townley Ewer.
The final book is one that resonates with a lot of older people and those looking after them- its a gentle read despite the title. Kiama Library is ordering a copy or you can request it from the Nowra Library.

R3 are very excited to be able to reschedule one of our pre-COVID activities.
Our Fabulous Fabric Free for All.
Its very simple – clear out your fabric stash (and knitting yarn stash) – drop your unwanted fabric and yarn at the Joyce Wheatley Centre from 12 noon onwards on Thursday 22nd October then from 2 to 6pm browse all the fabrics and yarns for your next project and take what you want away for free
– you do not have to drop off fabrics/yarns to be able to take fabrics/yarns away!
There will be a gold coin donation to get the left overs recycled.
We will only be accepting fabrics and yarns for this event so please no haberdashery, patterns or electrical items.
We will need helpers on the day so if you can give at least 1 hour of your time from 12 noon to 6.30pm please let us know at admin@reduce-reuse-recycle-kiama.org
We are pleased to announce another sewing bee – This time in GERRINGONG. Please use the same links below to book in on either Saturday 29 Aug or Sunday 30 Aug.
R3 was approached by a group of mothers concerned about the recent youth suicides and wanting to do something to raise funds to support prevention programmes in our local schools, sports and youth clubs.
The ladies had the idea of making and sewing face masks as their first fund raising project and of course everyone wants to help.
Due to R3’s successful Kiama Boomerang Bag group and Wild Life Carers sewing bees it was asked if R3 would run sewing bees to make face masks.
Thanks to the Kiama Boomerang Bag group loaning machines and equipment as well as donating fabric R3 is able to run two sewing bees at the Joyce Wheatley Centre, Hindmarch Park, Kiama on Saturday 8th August and Sunday 9th August.
Details of the sewing bee and how to book can be found HERE.
If you would like to donate fabrics please look at what and where you can donate HERE
If you would like to sew masks at home for Makuta the pattern and instructions can be found HERE.
If you would like to use the pattern just to make masks for yourself and family – please think about making a donation to Makuta HERE.
